Every year, Healthcare Traveler magazine asks its readers to nominate their favorite recruiter for "Recruiter of the Year"! Read the warm-hearted recommendations some of wrote in 2009:

But not Donna, she really cares about her travelers, and always makes the extra effort to make sure I'm happy.

She goes above and beyond--even giving me her personal cell number to reach her in an emergency. I've dealt with several recruiters in my career and Tina Swisher deserves this award.

Dwayne - I traveled with Advantage RN up until February 2009. My agency career is extensive. Dwayne Melton, in my opinion, is the most deserving recruiter for this honor. Dwayne is honest, meticulous, informed, caring, prompt, a problem-solver, and genuinely concerned with nurses needs. He has worked diligently to get me placed where I choose to go. He
remains positive and prompt in whatever he does. He is not only my favorite, most dependable recruiter, but he is my long-distance friend, someone that I feel and know I can count on, even though I have never met Dwayne. I have been in his position in my own agency in the past, so I know the value of an outstanding, committed recruiter. Tosha - Tosha works nonstop to make sure that my contracts are either extended or she has several options for my next assignment for me to choose from. She has always made sure that the jobs she presents are well-researched to meet my needs. When I accept an assignment, I can be assured that it is a great fit because she has left no stone unturned. She is always just a phone call away, so I never feel alone on an assignment. With Tosha, you truly come first and that's a wonderful feeling when you are so far from home. I wish I had met her when I first started traveling. I just can't imagine using any other recruiter.

Alison - Alison and I have had an ongoing work relationship for about three years and she is the best! She cares about her travelers, never seems too busy when there are issues to be discussed, has a wicked sense of humor, and is a genuinely caring recruiter. Her job has to be stressful but Alison makes the best of every situation. I've never heard her frustrated or down. On the contrary, she's very upbeat and always has a quick wit about her. Tosha - Being a first-time traveler, I was very nervous about the assignment. Tosha called me everyday, sent me things through the mail, made sure everything was OK everyday. It was lovely to have someone you could depend on when you are a stranger alone in a city you've never been to. She is a friend and a guide. I actually met her while I was in North Carolina and I was very impressed by how hard she works to make sure everything goes well for her nurses. She's dedicated, always has an eye out for what is best for her nurses.

Alison - I feel that Alison is the best recruiter that the travel nursing business has to offer.
